Overview

Senior Commissioning Engineer at Galliford Try in the Environment Business. You will lead commissioning across MEICA-focused projects under the Southern Water AMP8 programme, shaping commissioning strategies and ensuring regulatory compliance. You will coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, optimise handover to operations, and maintain alignment with the main contract. Responsibilities

  • Drive commissioning delivery across assigned projects in line with scope and interfaces
  • Develop and maintain the Project Commissioning Plan and Strategy from design through completion
  • Allocate competent resources with BU Head of MEICA & Commissioning and Head of Delivery
  • Collaborate with Asset Operations to integrate with existing assets
  • Ensure MEICA installations meet technical requirements and standards (including WIMES)
  • Organise MEICA installation, testing and commissioning activities with robust site engagement
  • Coordinate training plans including supplier/subcontractor training
  • Maintain commissioning programmes, run progress meetings, align with contract schedule
  • Ensure safety rules and complete inspection/test documentation
  • Manage pre-takeover activities and handover O&M documents to document control

Key requirements

  • Proven experience commissioning complex water industry projects in contracting environments
  • Strong leadership with multi-disciplinary team management
  • Excellent understanding of MEICA, water treatment processes and plant/equipment
  • Commercial awareness and change impact assessment
  • Competent in Microsoft Office for reporting/presentations
  • Structured approach to commissioning plant/equipment/processes
  • Industry-recognised qualifications in site management and client interface
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver MEICA commissioning through to takeover
  • CSCS/ECS Card in appropriate discipline
  • BS7671 (18th Edition)
