Overview

In this Information Security role within UCL’s Chief Information Security Office, you will help deliver security services across the UCL community. You respond to incidents and requests, promote pragmatic compliance, and safeguard information assets through incident response, policy implementation, and training. You collaborate to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and availability while advancing UCL’s security posture. This is a chance to contribute to a modernised security function in a leading HE institution.

Responsibilities

  • Handle IT security incidents and service requests within an IT service context
  • Promote and achieve compliance with security posture in practical ways
  • Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and training programs
  • Protect information assets through incident response, awareness, and preventive measures
  • Support confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information across the university

Key requirements

  • Experience delivering IT incident and request services
  • Experience delivering IT training to customers (group or one-on-one)
  • Technical knowledge in networks and TCP/IP, firewalls, system administration (Unix/Windows), desktop devices/OS
  • Knowledge of information security technologies (encryption, vulnerability testing, compliance checking, anti-virus, firewalls, IDS)
  • Programming or scripting experience
  • Relevant degree or equivalent professional qualifications
