ICT Principal Officer (Project Manager)

Overview

In this role within the Digital Services’ Programme & Projects team, you will lead ICT project delivery and change initiatives for the council. You will coordinate with stakeholders and external suppliers to define tasks, develop work packages, and track progress through management reports and risk logs. You will ensure smooth handover to Service Support and keep ICT colleagues and the wider Council informed of developments. This is a chance to shape public-sector ICT delivery at scale with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to organise and oversee rollout of change requests and projects
• Clarify Statements of Works with external suppliers and define required tasks for Digital Services
• Coordinate ICT technical staff to develop essential work packages for implementation
• Provide progress updates to ICT Management and Project Boards, including Highlight Reports and Risk/Issue logs
• Inform ICT colleagues and the wider Council about changes and new developments
• Ensure complete documentation for project/change handover to Service Support
