Overview
In this role you will help design, implement, and secure a multi-site network environment for Mastercard. You will collaborate across teams to plan upgrades, troubleshoot complex issues, and manage network projects in a 24/7 global setting. You’ll influence security posture, vendor engagements, and continuous service improvements to boost performance and reliability. This is a hands-on engineering role with a focus on scalable, compliant network architecture that supports Mastercard’s digital payments ecosystem. You will work to enable secure, efficient connectivity at scale.
Responsibilities
- Manage and implement a range of network projects
- Develop requirements for upgrading existing production and non-production network devices
- Plan and execute upgrades of production and corporate network devices
- Perform in-depth network troubleshooting and provide technical assistance
- Plan, resource, and implement changes for projects (including out-of-hours)
- Identify risks, escalate concerns, and prevent missed requirements
- Cross-team collaboration and engagement to gather information
- Engage with change management and operations
- Support vendor management
- Identify service improvements to optimize performance, efficiency and capacity
- Baseline checks on new hardware for security and standards
- Mentor peers and share knowledge
Key requirements
- 3–5 years of IT experience in Networking (LAN/WAN), Firewalls, Security and encryption technologies, Load Balancing
- Experience with TCP/IP
- Broad knowledge of Cisco’s product portfolio
- Knowledge of network diagnostics, BGP, SNMP, VPN, SSH, MPLS
- Work in a regulated environment with DSS/PCI compliance
- Current CCNP certification or equivalent experience
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Self-starter with good listening skills
- Mentor to junior staff and capable of limited supervision
