Group Financial Controller

Overview

In this role you will lead the Group finance function, partnering with the Group Finance Director to support growth and strategic decision-making. You will drive governance, robust reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and continuous improvement across systems and processes. As a hands-on finance leader, you will mentor the team, embed best practices, and ensure the function scales with the business. This is a high-visibility role that combines operational excellence with strategic influence at board level and across leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day management of the finance function and mentor the finance team
• Oversee financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting
• Strengthen internal controls, governance, and process improvements
• Drive continuous improvement of systems, processes and financial reporting
• Provide meaningful financial insight to support commercial decision-making
• Partner with senior stakeholders to support strategic initiatives and growth
• Collaborate with leadership to embed best practices and ensure scalable finance capabilities
• Operate at board level and maintain credibility across the organisation

Key requirements

• AC A, ACCA or CIMA qualified
• proven track record in senior finance leadership roles
• experience in growing, owner-managed or private equity-backed businesses
• strong background in financial systems, controls and process improvement
