As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will contribute to product development and engineering improvements for heavy equipment in the material handling division. Responsibilities
- Support product improvement and engineering enhancement projects
- Lead product improvement and cost reduction initiatives
- Support engineering design activities from concept through to production
- Create and maintain engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Manage engineering changes in line with company procedures
- Support technical problem-solving activities across engineering and production
- Assist with product support and technical queries
- Work closely with manufacturing and supply chain teams to support operational efficiency
- Support safety improvement activities across product lines
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering and operations
Key requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years’ experience within equipment design and manufacturing environments
- Experience with mechanical design and engineering documentation
- Strong CAD experience with 3D design packages such as SolidWorks or similar
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical standards
- Understanding of manufacturing processes including fabrication and welding
- Good communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office packages
