Business Analyst

Overview

You will translate complex business needs into actionable requirements to support the end-to-end assessment lifecycle. In a cross-functional setting, you’ll collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to design practical technology solutions that improve processes and deliver value for learners. This role sits at the intersection of business and IT, influencing delivery across projects and change initiatives. You will help standardise practices, drive continuous improvement and shape critical technology that underpins exam delivery at scale. This is a chance to influence education technology within a reputable UK charity and work hybridly from Manchester.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to gather, analyse and document business requirements
• Translate requirements into user stories, specifications and process maps
• Support design, development and implementation of technology solutions aligned with priorities
• Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing, including criteria, test scripts and issue resolution
• Manage risks, dependencies and backlog priorities to enable successful delivery
• Maintain project documentation in Azure DevOps and SharePoint
• Share knowledge, promote Continuous Improvement and best practices within the BA team

Key requirements

• Extensive experience as a Business Analyst in complex technology or transformation environments
• Ability to engage, influence and challenge senior stakeholders
• Strong commercial and strategic awareness aligned to organisational goals
• Experience shaping outcomes through requirements, process improvement and solution design
• Collaborative, cross-project experience navigating ambiguity
• Proactive, outcome-focused mindset to drive change
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills for workshops and stakeholder alignment
• Experience delivering BA work in Agile, Waterfall or hybrid environments
• Solid understanding of SDLC and collaboration with technology teams
• Experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence or similar tools
