Associate Building Surveyor

Overview

Join Arcadis as an Associate Building Surveyor within the Education Building Surveying team. You will lead capital works delivery for universities, schools, and education estates, applying expert surveying advice to diverse portfolios. You’ll build lasting client relationships, guide service delivery, and mentor junior colleagues to grow the team’s capability. This role combines technical depth with commercial accountability to drive high-quality, on-time, on-budget outcomes. You’ll work in a collaborative, cross-disciplinary environment focused on impactful, sustainable education projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of capital works projects across education sector portfolios
• Strengthen and develop client relationships and pursue new opportunities
• Provide professional building surveying services including condition surveys and asset inspections
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, to high quality standards
• Manage project finances and performance for commercial success
• Provide clear communication and reporting to clients and stakeholders
• Mentor and support junior Building Surveyors to develop technical capability
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve client outcomes

Key requirements

• MRICS qualification or working towards chartership
• Strong technical building surveying expertise with capital works delivery
• Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management
• Understanding of challenges in education sector estates
• Commercial awareness and risk, programme, and quality management
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
