Overview
In this role you lead Financial Planning & Analysis for the Technology function, partnering with senior technology and procurement leaders to drive strong financial performance and cost efficiency. You own budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning, while pushing for savings, investment clarity, and delivery. You translate complex data into concise insight for tech leadership and executives, leveraging automation and self-service reporting. This position combines financial stewardship with strategic influence in a fast-moving retail tech environment.

Responsibilities
- Act as lead FP&A partner for Technology, building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and providing financially focused guidance
- Own Technology budget, forecast and long-term plan with robust assumptions and clear risks/opportunities
- Partner with Procurement to identify and quantify savings across technology spend including renewals, vendor consolidation and cost avoidance
- Maintain visibility of savings initiatives, track against budget/forecast and ensure delivery
- Challenge new investment and resourcing proposals to clarify costs, benefits and returns
- Lead reporting on Technology performance (actuals, forecast, budget, risks, opportunities, savings and spend)
- Provide portfolio view of major Technology investments and Procurement programmes with delivery status and financial risks
- Own and improve financial controls for Technology expenditure (operating and capital)
- Translate complex financial information into concise, decision-focused insights for leadership and executive forums
- Improve reporting quality and efficiency using Power BI and automation to enable self-service
- Lead and develop teammates supporting Technology cost base and set standards for ownership and accountability
- Support Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives within the team
Key requirements
- A qualified accountant, or substantial relevant commercial FP&A experience
- Proven experience partnering with senior non-finance stakeholders, ideally in Technology/Digital/Procurement
- Commercial and inquisitive mindset with ability to challenge and influence senior decision-makers
- Demonstrated track record of identifying, quantifying and delivering cost savings or efficiency opportunities
- Strong planning, budgeting and forecasting capabilities with understanding of operational drivers
- Excellent reporting and analytical skills to convert data into insights and actions
- Solid understanding of business cases, investment appraisal and financial evaluation of technology projects
- Experience managing operating and capital expenditure (beneficial but not mandatory)
- Advanced Excel and Power BI or similar tools (AI functionality in FP&A is beneficial)
