Overview

As a Senior Structural Design Engineer at Jacobs, you will lead the design of robust, safe, and sustainable structures for diverse high-profile projects. You’ll work within the Building Structures team to deliver innovative, 3D-enabled designs and mentor other engineers. You’ll collaborate with clients, architects and stakeholders to ensure projects meet technical and budgetary goals, using modern digital tools. Responsibilities

• lead and deliver structural design and specification for buildings in line with standards and regulations
• integrate modern digital tools and 3D design practices to stay at the forefront of engineering
• mentor and develop junior engineers within the team
• collaborate with clients, architects and stakeholders to foster trust and project alignment
• manage project budgets and timelines to ensure successful delivery
• perform structural inspections and report defects where necessary
• apply multi-disciplinary design processes across projects
• work on international-scale projects and contribute to global delivery

Key requirements

• degree in civil or structural engineering (or equivalent)
• Chartered Engineer with professional membership would be an advantage
• strong experience in building structure design and specification
• proficiency with structural analysis/design software (Robot, ETABS, SAFE) – advantageous
• ability to conduct structural inspections and report defects
• knowledge of multi-disciplinary design processes
