As Associate Director, you will lead and grow a geotechnical team within a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy. Responsibilities
- Lead geotechnical projects from feasibility to construction
- Provide expert input on foundations, retaining structures, deep excavations, earthworks, slopes and ground engineering
- Perform and review advanced geotechnical analysis and numerical modelling
- Manage project teams, programmes, budgets, and client relationships
- Support business development and help secure new work
- Mentor junior and senior geotechnical engineers
- Ensure technical quality, QA, and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with structural, civil, and construction disciplines
Key requirements
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related discipline
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent
- Significant consultancy experience in geotechnical engineering
- Proven track record delivering complex geotechnical projects
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Extensive experience in geotechnical numerical modelling
- Advanced proficiency in PLAXIS 2D and PLAXIS 3D
- Strong understanding of soil-structure interaction, retaining walls, foundations, excavations, and ground improvement techniques
