Overview

In this role you will contribute to Citi’s Cross Asset Margin platform, building and evolving risk and margin systems used across trading, risk management, and operations. You will work within the Applications Development team to implement robust, scalable solutions aligned to the architecture blueprint and governance standards. Expect to solve complex, high-impact problems and lead smooth production releases in a regulatory-driven environment. This role offers meaningful impact by shaping margin calculation and risk workflows in a large, global bank.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert programming guidance and ensure adherence to architecture
  • Set coding, testing, debugging, and deployment standards
  • Develop understanding of business processes and how they integrate with tech
  • Lead design standard discussions to improve development efficiency
  • Own production release planning and execution
  • Analyze operations to identify risks and redundancies
  • Assess and develop solutions for complex issues
  • Collaborate with team and management to meet governance standards
  • Stay current with industry trends and developments
  • Mitigate risk and ensure compliance through disciplined decision-making

Key requirements

  • Proven experience coding in Java
  • Hands-on coding experience in Java ecosystem
  • Deep knowledge of Java, Spring, Kafka, and Apache Ignite
  • Relational database experience (Oracle); NoSQL like MongoDB preferred
  • Python experience preferred
  • Exposure to microservices architecture; API-first design with Rest, WebSocket, gRPC
  • Experience building apps on cloud platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
  • Knowledge of design patterns and software development methodologies
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication; ability to work independently and in teams
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • UI tech stack knowledge is a plus
  • Business knowledge of Margin, CVA, XVA, and regulatory stress testing is preferred
  • Understanding of risks (Greeks) and Var/SIMM concepts; collaboration with Quant team preferred
