Responsibilities

  • Represent clients at coroner’s inquests, including NHS Trusts
  • Advise on investigations by regulators (GMC, GDC, GOC, NMC, HCPC)
  • Collaborate with NHS Trusts, private healthcare providers, indemnifiers, and insurers
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy
  • Draft pleadings, witness statements, and correspondence
  • Liaise with clients, medical professionals, and experts to gather evidence
  • Attend hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations
  • Maintain accurate case documentation
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Healthcare Team

Key requirements

  • 5+ years PQE in healthcare regulatory, disciplinary, and inquest work
  • Proven experience working with healthcare regulators
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage high-volume and complex caseloads
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software
