Overview

In this role you design and engineer application-specific solutions for 11kV Genie-EVO switchgear, ensuring compliance with customer specs and ENA standards. You will collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to deliver design packages from concept to delivery, balancing remote and on-site work. You drive reliable protection-relay configurations, 2D/3D drawings, and BOMs, shaping high-quality electrical solutions for utility and industrial environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and development of application-specific Genie-EVO switchgear solutions
  • Create and manage 2D ePLAN drawings and 3D layout elements
  • Lead technical design discussions with customers
  • Ensure designs comply with ENA Wiring Standards and customer specifications
  • Program and configure protection relays
  • Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Generate and manage design documentation and relay configuration files
  • Support hybrid project delivery (remote and on-site)
  • Complete engineering drawings and wiring diagrams (core deliverables)
  • Deliver full design package for Genie-EVO switchgear applications
  • Provide verified ePLAN drawings (core deliverables)
  • Configure protection relay files and supporting documentation (core deliverables)
  • Ensure accurate and complete BOMs (core deliverables)
  • Produce clear technical interface documentation (core deliverables)

Key requirements

  • Proven experience in application or electrical design engineering
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, ePLAN or similar
  • Experience with switchgear
  • Strong understanding of medium voltage switchgear and protection relay programming
  • Familiarity with ENA standards and customer-specific wiring requirements
  • Knowledge of UK utility standards and practices
  • Excellent communication skills for customer interaction and technical discussions
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables in a hybrid work environment
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills
  • Multitasking and project management in hybrid environments
