Overview

In this role you support a busy Housing Finance and Property Portfolio team, handling a mix of finance and portfolio matters for housing providers. You will manage large-scale security charging and due diligence, draft and review title-related documents, and supervise junior fee earners while contributing to business development and legal tech initiatives. The position offers a collaborative, quality-driven environment with opportunities to shape client service and social impact in housing finance. You’ll work with cross-functional teams and leverage digital portals to deliver efficient, accurate transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied caseload of housing finance and portfolio matters
  • Assist with large-scale security charging and due diligence projects
  • Draft and negotiate Certificates of Title, reports on title, and condition precedent docs
  • Supervise and support junior fee earners on property finance and portfolio transactions
  • Oversee title reviews, Land Registry applications, and rectification work
  • Compile detailed title reports for asset management sales and acquisitions
  • Support business development through client events, training, and pitches
  • Contribute to management of legal tech systems and digital portals

Key requirements

  • 3-5 years PQE in property finance and/or property portfolio transactions
  • Experience with Registered Providers and/or housing sector lenders
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Excellent drafting, communication, and teamwork abilities
  • Confidence in managing smaller transactions independently and supervising juniors
  • Familiarity with Land Registry systems and legal tech (advantageous but not essential)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and legal IT systems
