You’ll steer development projects, procurement strategies, and bespoke contracts while mentoring junior fee earners and nurturing key client relationships. The position prioritises business development, cross‑team collaboration, and thought leadership to grow a national construction practice. This is a senior, strategic role with a focus on delivering profitable outcomes and shaping the firm’s construction offering.

Responsibilities
- Act as lead lawyer on complex, high‑value non‑contentious construction matters
- Advise on development projects, procurement strategies, and standard/bespoke construction contracts
- Supervise junior fee earners and ensure profitable, high‑quality file management
- Build and manage client relationships, including key account development
- Drive business development initiatives and expand into new sectors and markets
- Generate thought leadership and market insights to attract new opportunities
- Collaborate with the Head of Construction and Real Estate leadership to deliver the business plan
- Manage team performance against financial and non‑financial KPIs
Key requirements
- 8+ years PQE in non‑contentious construction law, ideally from a national or regional firm
- Proven leadership and mentoring experience
- Strong technical knowledge of construction law and procurement frameworks
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and client‑facing skills
- Commercial acumen and a proactive approach to business growth
