Senior Flood Risk & Drainage Engineer

Overview

As a Senior Drainage Engineer in a respected civil engineering consultancy, you will lead surface water drainage strategy design for major developments. You will undertake Flood Risk Assessments and design SuDS to meet planning requirements, working closely with clients and the project team. You’ll mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across drainage and flood-risk topics. Responsibilities

• Design and manage surface water drainage strategies for development projects
• Undertake Flood Risk Assessments for residential, commercial, and other developments
• Design Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS), including attenuation and water-quality measures
• Provide technical advice on planning, drainage, and flood-risk requirements
• Mentor and support Junior Engineers
• Liaise with clients, council officers and design team members, providing relevant advice
• Manage client relationships
• Attend site visits and resolve drainage-related problems

Key requirements

• Extensive experience in drainage engineering
• Bachelors in Civil Engineering or similar relevance
• Live in or near Bristol
• Knowledge of AutoCAD
• Creative and logical thinker able to problem solve
• Full UK driving licence
• Right to work in the UK
