Overview

In this role you contribute to the structural integrity of electrical and mechanical subsystems across aerospace, defence, nuclear and power domains. You will perform design, analysis and simulation to ensure components meet requirements, collaborating with cross-functional teams to support lifecycle engineering and regulatory compliance. You’ll introduce new methods and drive continuous improvement to deliver world-leading solutions. This role blends high technical rigor with practical, impact-driven problem solving in a hybrid-working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, analyse and simulate electrical components and sub-systems using multiple methodologies
  • Assemble and interpret structural simulations, experiments and first-principles analyses to assess capabilities against requirements
  • Develop and apply novel methods and technologies in future products
  • Drive continuous improvement through best practices and process automation
  • Collaborate with Design, System, Safety, Service and Airworthiness teams to ensure regulatory and customer requirements are met

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering or regional equivalent
  • Strong mechanical design and structural analysis knowledge
  • Analytical and innovative problem-solving skills with ability to balance technical and business considerations
  • Professional body membership; Chartered status preferred in the UK (or regional equivalents)
  • Good communication and presentation skills
