Overview

In this role you will lead and grow the Building Engineering team in Perth, delivering complex structural projects across health, defence, transport, commercial, aviation and data centres. You’ll oversee design quality and cross‑disciplinary coordination while expanding client relationships and supporting business development. You’ll mentor the Perth team and strengthen AECOM’s national Building Engineering presence. This is a milestone leadership opportunity within a global infrastructure firm that values technical excellence and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of complex structural and multi-disciplinary building projects across sectors in Australia
  • Oversee structural design and end-to-end project delivery with cross-discipline coordination
  • Leverage local network to strengthen client relationships and support business development with a robust project pipeline
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to the structural team and grow Perth presence within the national group

Key requirements

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering (or equivalent) with 15+ years in consultancy delivering structural engineering projects in buildings
  • Chartership with Engineers Australia (CPEng) or equivalent registrations highly regarded
  • Strong structural design expertise with deep knowledge of Australian codes, standards and regulations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to build and maintain client/contractor/stakeholder relationships
  • Proven competency in project and commercial management with track record of leading complex projects
