Overview

In this role you bridge business and technology to lead cybersecurity risk management and regulatory compliance. You will guide security remediations and transformation programs, ensuring security is embedded in projects and services. You work with executives to communicate risk posture and enable business objectives while strengthening governance. The role sits within MUFG’s IT Security team, contributing to a trusted, secure, and resilient financial group. Responsibilities

  • Act as trusted security advisor for business and technology stakeholders
  • Translate cybersecurity requirements into practical controls and risk mitigations
  • Embed security requirements across projects, programs, and service lifecycles
  • Facilitate security reviews for cloud services, vendor onboarding, business initiatives, and application development
  • Promote security awareness and risk ownership across functions
  • Support executives in understanding security posture and risk exposure
  • Serve as first line of defense risk representative for assigned units
  • Maintain oversight of information security, technology, cyber, and operational risks
  • Perform risk assessments and control evaluations for apps, infrastructure, cloud, and third parties
  • Review risk acceptances and exception requests; maintain risk registers and remediation plans
  • Monitor emerging threats and regulatory developments that may impact the business

Key requirements

  • 10+ years in cybersecurity or security engineering
  • Experience in cloud-native or hybrid environments
  • Experience with enterprise security tooling
  • Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams
