Finance Director

Overview

In this Finance Director role you will lead a substantial UK finance and business support function, ensuring robust governance and controls. You will partner with operational leadership to drive performance, streamline processes and support business change and growth initiatives. The role offers significant autonomy, exposure to senior leadership and opportunities to shape major transformation programmes. You will influence cross-functional teams and steer financial strategy across multiple sites within a global organisation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the UK finance and business support function, directing a team of ~30 through senior reports
• Oversee financial control, reporting, treasury, tax, procurement, payroll and finance systems
• Ensure governance, controls and compliance across the function
• Partner with operational leadership to drive performance and process improvements
• Implement best practice and support business change, integration activity and growth initiatives
• Lead large-scale transformation programmes and acquisitions integrations
• Manage relationships with senior stakeholders and align finance with strategic objectives
• Support external audit and governance processes

Key requirements

• ACA, ACMA or ACCA qualified
• Proven track record leading large finance functions in complex, multi-site organisations
• Experience in financial control, audit, governance and transformation
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and develop high-performing teams
• Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations or major process improvements
• Strong leadership, change management and operational delivery capabilities
