Overview

As a Site Manager for Balfour Beatty’s Power Transmission & Distribution projects, you will lead day-to-day on-site delivery, ensuring safe, efficient construction aligned with our Zero Harm culture. You will manage site teams, subcontractors and supply partners, maintain records, and drive safety initiatives. You’ll coordinate resources, monitor progress and support programme, quality and commercial performance. You’ll build strong stakeholder relations with clients and project teams to enable successful, safe project delivery at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day site operations across projects
  • Ensure delivery is safe and aligned with Zero Harm culture
  • Manage on-site teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners
  • Monitor progress and maintain site records/reports
  • Lead safety talks, toolbox talks and RAMS Reviews
  • Coordinate labour, plant, materials and resources for efficient delivery
  • Support management of programme, quality and commercial performance
  • Identify, manage and escalate risks, issues and opportunities
  • Build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and project teams

Key requirements

  • Experience managing construction or utility infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of safe systems of work and risk management
  • Experience leading site teams and subcontractors
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and solve problems effectively
  • Good understanding of project delivery and construction methodologies
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Desirable: Experience in Power Transmission & Distribution, utilities or energy infrastructure
  • Desirable: Experience working on DNO projects
  • Desirable: Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications
  • Desirable: CSCS and SSSTS (or equivalent) qualifications
  • Desirable: Street works (NRSWA)
  • Desirable: National Grid Substation Authorisations
  • Desirable: Excavation & Trench Support
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management
  • Problem solving in fast-paced environments
  • Leadership and team coordination
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications
  • CSCS and SSSTS qualifications
