Solicitor – Personal Injury or Serious Injury

Overview

As an Associate/Solicitor in the Major Injury & Casualty team, you will manage varied litigated caseloads across Personal Injury, Serious Injury, RTA and Motorclaims within a hybrid Glasgow or Edinburgh setup. You will progress cases efficiently, apply strong litigation knowledge, and maintain key client relationships while developing technical and commercial acumen. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, supported by flexible benefits and ongoing training. Responsibilities

• Progress cases quickly and efficiently
• Apply strong technical understanding of principles and case law in litigation
• Manage relationships with clients to meet SLAs and best practices
• Prioritise work and maximise efficiency
• Build stakeholder relationships internally and externally
• Develop technical and commercial knowledge through training and practice
• Handle own caseload of pre-litigated and Sheriff Court actions while supporting senior colleagues on high-value files
• Support Personal Injury, Serious Injury, RTA and Motorclaims matters
• Engage in insurance litigation work and related disputes

Key requirements

• Experience handling own caseload of pre-litigated and Sheriff Court actions
• Experience managing Personal Injury, Serious Injury, RTA and Motorclaims
• Insurance litigation experience essential
• Desirable: experience in Employers Liability, Public Liability, Motor, RTA, Casualty, Disease, Personal injury, Serious injury and catastrophic injury
• Desirable: experience acting for Defenders and broader litigation exposure
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and work under pressure
