Project Manager (Capital)

Overview

As Capital Project Manager you will drive long-term capital planning and delivery for the Trust’s estates, focusing on healthcare construction and sustainable design. You will partner with the Estates leadership to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget while shaping capital strategy. The role combines technical oversight with high-stakes stakeholder engagement and a responsive, proactive approach to emergencies. This is an opportunity to influence major infrastructure that supports patient care and NHS objectives.

Responsibilities

• Develop long-term capital plans and procurement strategies for the Trust’s site, plant and infrastructure
• Create an operational plan linked to the Estate Strategy, Master Plan and Integrated Business Plan
• Deliver capital schemes on time and on budget with robust financial control
• Provide expert estates advice on healthcare construction and sustainable design to senior stakeholders
• Lead on capital programme development and procurement to support Trust-wide investment decisions

Key requirements

• Project management experience
• Experience in a healthcare setting
• Master’s qualification or equivalent
• Budget and Construction Cost Management
• Database and Spreadsheets
• Currently familiar with JCT & NEC forms of Contract (desirable)
• NHS/Public sector Procurement (desirable)
• Ability to work under pressure and manage large multi-disciplinary projects
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to influence at senior levels
