Overview
In this role you lead the repairs operation for around 25,000 council homes, ensuring safe, high‑quality, and compliant outcomes. You will manage a large multi-disciplinary team, drive efficiency and service improvements, and partner with senior stakeholders to meet housing and sustainability goals. Your focus is on resident‑centred service delivery, value for money, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities
- Lead a large, multi-disciplinary team (up to 125 staff) delivering responsive repairs.
- Ensure timely, cost-effective, high-quality repairs through strong operational control.
- Drive service improvements and foster accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate across departments and with senior stakeholders to align with housing and sustainability goals.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, regulatory expectations, and health & safety standards.
- Embed customer-centric practices and use feedback to improve service delivery.
- Manage significant budgets to deliver value for money and maximise resource effectiveness.
Key requirements
- Senior-level leadership experience in repairs and maintenance within the social housing sector.
- Strong track record in operational service delivery, team leadership, and budget management.
- Ability to lead strategically and operationally, driving transformation and resident satisfaction.
- Comprehensive understanding of housing legislation, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
