Overview

As a Property & Casualty Package Underwriter in London, you focus on new business development for upper SME/lower middle-market clients. You will underwrite, quote, and trade with broker partners, aiming to grow a robust pipeline and close opportunities in line with targets. You collaborate across sales, distribution, and underwriting to deliver Chubb’s value proposition with speed and integrity. Responsibilities

  • Underwrite, quote, and convert new P&C package business in the lower middle-market to meet targets
  • Engage with producers and BDMs to develop and execute a pipeline
  • Negotiate and close new opportunities with effective trading behaviours
  • Provide a high level of underwriting service and fast response to brokers
  • Collaborate with sales, other lines, risk engineering, operations, and underwriting management
  • Maintain underwriting integrity per best practices and regular peer reviews
  • Keep accurate underwriting records and data
  • Represent and promote Chubb to brokers and build strong producer relationships
  • Conduct business ethically within code of conduct, compliance, guidelines and service standards
  • Advocate for the brand, upholding values, ethics, culture and standards

Key requirements

  • Experience in property and casualty underwriting
  • Proven track record in new business development
  • Knowledge of upper SME / lower middle-market segment
  • Results-driven with initiative and decision-making ability
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications
  • Commitment to underwriting service and speed of response
  • A-Levels or higher, with a degree or ACII (or progress towards these) preferred but not essential
