Overview

In this placement, you support Relationship Managers within Commercial Banking to understand client needs and deliver tailored solutions. You work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment, gaining exposure to client presentations, credit materials, and risk assessments. You learn how products and specialist teams come together to serve businesses, while building professional confidence and a clearer sense of where you could contribute. This role offers practical, relationship-led learning in a fast-moving, client-centric bank.

Responsibilities

• Support Relationship Managers and specialist teams in client initiatives
• Develop understanding of each client’s business, goals and challenges
• Contribute to client presentations, reports and credit papers
• Assist with strategic reviews and pitches
• Conduct financial analysis and risk assessments on portfolios and transactions
• Collaborate with Legal, Credit and Risk to deliver tailored solutions

Key requirements

• Available to work full time for 12 months from June 2027
• On-track to obtain a minimum of a 2:1 undergraduate degree (or overseas equivalent)
• Penultimate year of undergraduate study
• Able to complete a placement as part of undergraduate studies, graduating in 2029
• Fluent in English
• Legally permitted to work in the UK for the full duration without HSBC sponsorship
