Senior Cost Consultant (Aviation)

Overview

As a Senior Cost Consultant at Arcadis, you will lead cost management across the Gatwick Airport Northern Runway Programme, partnering with clients and delivery teams to ensure robust commercial performance. You will work largely on-site at Gatwick, guiding cost plans, budgets, and financial reporting through the project lifecycle. You’ll mentor junior staff, support NEC contract administration, and deliver commercial insights to enable informed decisions. This role offers meaningful impact in a high-profile aviation infrastructure programme that enhances capacity and passenger experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost management across major project packages from feasibility to completion
• Develop and manage cost plans, estimates, budgets, and reporting
• Monitor performance, identify risks/opportunities, provide commercial insights
• Support NEC3/NEC4 contract administration and change management
• Build strong client, contractor, and stakeholder relationships
• Mentor junior team members and support governance and reporting processes

Key requirements

• Significant cost management experience on major infrastructure projects
• Experience in aviation, rail, highways or complex capital programmes
• Strong knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts, including compensation events
• Demonstrable stakeholder management and client-facing experience
• Ability to manage workstreams independently within a broader programme
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
• MRICS chartered status or working towards chartership
• CSCS card holder or willing to obtain
