As a Senior Legal Counsel, Data Privacy & Technology, you guide GDPR-compliant privacy and technology law for a global firm. You partner with senior management to manage privacy risk, lead data protection governance, and drive cross-border initiatives. You’ll shape the privacy program, handle data breaches and regulatory inquiries, and negotiate pivotal tech and commercial agreements. The role offers meaningful scope to own high-impact privacy projects and foster a privacy-by-design culture.

Responsibilities
- Strategic advisory on data privacy, AI, cybersecurity and technology law to senior stakeholders
- Drive GDPR compliance across global operations and emerging risk areas
- Lead drafting and negotiation of technology and commercial contracts, including DPAs and TIAs
- Build and evolve data protection governance: policies, templates and decision-making frameworks
- Manage data breach and data subject request responses, coordinating with relevant functions
- Create privacy training and awareness programs to promote privacy-by-design
- Lead global privacy initiatives and act as internal SME
- Manage external counsel and serve as a point of contact for regulators/public authorities
Key requirements
- Law degree and bar admission
- 4–10 years of relevant experience (international law firm and/or in-house)
- Strong GDPR and privacy risk management knowledge
- Proven drafting/negotiation of technology and commercial contracts with privacy provisions
- Calm, clear communicator capable of influencing across levels
- Organised, pragmatic and improvement-minded
- Fluent English; German is an advantage
