Overview
As a Senior Software Engineer in Wise Platform, you will shape KYC and onboarding capabilities for partners by designing robust public APIs and scalable microservices. You’ll work in an autonomous cross‑functional team to drive product roadmaps, improve reliability, and raise the bar on technical excellence. You’ll influence both engineering and product decisions, partnering with compliance and operations to deliver world‑class embedded KYC experiences. This role offers impact at scale with meaningful collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities
- Design and build public-facing APIs for Wise Platform and partners to enable seamless integrations
- Own and drive technical roadmaps within your domain, addressing debt, reliability, scalability, and security
- Architect robust, scalable microservices using event-driven design patterns
- Influence product roadmapping and strategy with product management and cross-functional teams
- Lead cross-team initiatives to unlock new features and value for partners
- Mentor engineers through code reviews and best practices to raise technical standards
Key requirements
- Strong foundation in Java or another JVM language with Spring
- Experience building and operating microservices and understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and event-driven architectures
- Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar messaging systems and building robust event pipelines
- Proficiency with relational and non-relational databases, including schema design and data lifecycle management for sensitive information
- Product-minded with data-driven decision making to shape roadmaps and solve partner problems
- Experience leading cross-team initiatives and communicating with non-technical stakeholders
