The role
Most companies struggle to extract real-time intelligence from their existing sensor infrastructure. We build a privacy-first platform that transforms legacy systems into actionable operational insights, without requiring a full hardware overhaul. This means solving hard problems at the intersection of physical infrastructure and advanced software, delivering immediate value from existing, often overlooked, data streams.
As a Frontier Engineer, you sit at the boundary between product and customer. This isn’t a role for those who prefer detailed specs; you’ll convert ambiguous customer needs into deployed solutions, often building novel capabilities where the end-state is unclear. You’ll own the full technical surface, from data pipelines and backend services to UI components and on-site hardware configuration, directly shaping how our product delivers value in complex, real-world environments.
The work
- Design and implement full-stack solutions, from data pipelines and custom backend services to new UI components.
- Install and configure hardware on-site, ensuring seamless integration with existing customer infrastructure.
- Spend up to 50% of your time directly with customers, translating vague operational challenges into concrete technical requirements.
- Drive the product feedback loop, surfacing critical customer insights to inform future development.
- Navigate highly ambiguous problems, delivering deployed solutions where the path forward is rarely obvious.
What You Bring
- Proven ability to deliver tangible value in highly ambiguous technical environments, without relying on pre-defined specs.
- Direct experience working with customers on-site, translating complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- A track record of resourceful problem-solving, taking vague needs from concept to deployed solution.
- Strong prioritization skills, making deliberate tradeoffs between speed and long-term quality.
- Comfort working across the full stack (Python, TypeScript, Linux hardware configuration) and rapidly learning new tools.
