AECOM is seeking a Senior Sustainability Consultant to join our established Sustainability & Decarbonisation Advisory team, part of our Building Engineering Business Line, which is recognised as a leader in sustainable development.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering Sustainability & Carbon services for major public and private sector clients, helping them to design and deliver low‑carbon, resilient, and sustainable estates.

This role will span a wide range of sectors including healthcare, education and commercial, but most specifically UK Defence & National Security.

Key Responsibilities

With support from the wider team, you will be responsible for:

• Supporting clients to develop and understand their sustainability & decarbonisation requirements.
• Developing, delivering, and reviewing whole life carbon reduction strategies for a variety of scoping mechanisms (e.g., Greater London Authority, LETI & RIBA, RICS, BREEAM etc.).
• Liaising directly with clients and designers to develop sustainability & decarbonisation strategies at the outset, implementing these from early design through to construction.
• Delivery of assessment certification schemes such as BREEAM and DREAM. LEED and/or WELL experience is advantageous.
• Delivery of sustainability appraisals such as SAW and SEEAM.
• Supporting project management and programming.
• Supporting work winning through the bidding process incl. tender responses.
• Mentoring of junior staff where suitable to help upskilling.
