Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced, hands-on individual, with strong leadership skills, and a continual-improvement mindset, to join our growing team as Operations Manager.

As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational performance of our UK facility, with responsibility across our Goods In, Warehousing, Fulfilment, Transport, Shipping and Premises functions. You will ensure goods move efficiently through the business from arrival through to dispatch, while maintaining high standards of organisation, accuracy and presentation, developing our people and processes, and continually identifying opportunities to improve the way we work.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the day-to-day running of our Goods In, Warehousing, Fulfilment, Transport, Shipping and Premises functions
  • Ensuring the efficient movement of goods into, around and out of the business
  • Maintaining high standards of accuracy, organisation, efficiency and presentation across all operational areas
  • Managing operational workloads and ensuring staffing and resources are allocated appropriately
  • Working closely with Client Services to ensure fulfilment requirements are understood, resourced and delivered on time
  • Continually reviewing processes and identifying opportunities to improve productivity, quality and efficiency
  • Supporting, mentoring and developing members of the operational team
  • Maintaining excellent warehouse and workplace presentation standards, ensuring all areas remain tidy, organised and client-ready
  • Supporting stock control, warehouse organisation and improvements to stock-handling processes
  • Providing hands-on operational support during busy periods where required
  • Providing cover for Transport and Shipping, including Royal Mail, FedEx and same-day delivery requirements
  • Supporting health, safety and general premises standards across the facility
  • Resolving operational issues quickly and constructively, while identifying and addressing the underlying cause

Requirements

  • Previous experience managing a warehouse, fulfilment, logistics or similar operational environment
  • Strong people-management skills, with the ability to lead, support and develop a varied team
  • Exceptional organisational and time-management skills
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem solving,
  • Strong attention to detail, with high standards of organisation and presentation
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment
  • Confidence making day-to-day operational decisions and taking ownership
  • Excellent communication skills, with a confident, calm and personable approach
  • Proficient I.T. skills and confidence using warehouse, inventory and courier systems
  • A continual-improvement mindset, with a genuine interest in developing more efficient ways of working
  • A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to support the wider team when required
