People Advisor

Location: Manchester (Hybrid 2 days in office / 3 days from home)

Salary: Up to £40,000

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

As a People Advisor, you’ll be the go‑to person for managers, providing hands‑on HR support and guidance across a variety of people matters. You’ll enjoy building strong relationships, solving problems, and helping create a positive employee experience from start to finish.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting managers with employee relations matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, and performance concerns.
  • Providing practical, straightforward HR advice and helping managers make confident people decisions.
  • Supporting organisational change projects and wider people initiatives.
  • Coordinating key HR activities, including on-boarding, performance reviews, and exit interviews.
  • Reviewing and updating HR policies to ensure they remain effective and compliant.
  • Using people data and insights to identify trends and support business decisions.
  • Assisting with recruitment activities and HR compliance processes.
  • Getting involved in engagement, well‑being, and development initiatives that help employees thrive.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working closely with people and is passionate about delivering a great employee experience. You’ll ideally have:

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent HR experience).
  • Previous HR generalist experience.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law.
  • Confidence managing employee relations cases independently.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • A proactive, organised, and solutions‑focused approach.
