Join our kitchen team at The Blue Bell Inn, Wentbridge, near Pontefract, West Yorkshire! The Blue Bell Inn is one of Yorkshire’s best-loved country inns, serving high-quality, seasonal British food in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
As part of the Wentbridge House family, you’ll be joining an award-winning independent Yorkshire hospitality business that includes Wentbridge House Hotel, The Blue Bell Inn and Blue Smoke Artisan Pizza.
We’re looking for a passionate and reliable Line Cook / Grill Chef to join our talented kitchen team. This is a hands‑on role for someone who loves working with great ingredients, takes pride in their cooking and enjoys the buzz of a busy service.
About you
You’ll have experience working in a professional kitchen and be confident working on the line, particularly on the grill. You’ll be organised, calm under pressure and committed to consistently producing excellent food.
You’ll:
- Take responsibility for the grill and your section during busy service.
- Cook meat, fish and other dishes to a consistently high standard.
- Prepare and maintain your section ready for service.
- Work efficiently as part of a fast-paced kitchen team.
- Follow recipes, portion controls and presentation standards.
- Maintain excellent food hygiene, cleanliness and health & safety standards.
- Support your fellow chefs and contribute to a positive, professional kitchen environment.
- Take pride in using quality, seasonal ingredients and delivering great food every time.

This role would suit an experienced Line Cook, Grill Chef, Commis Chef, Demi Chef de Partie or Chef de Partie looking to develop their skills and build a long-term career within an ambitious, independent hospitality business.
Due to our rural location, you’ll need your own transport unless you’re using our live-in accommodation. You must have the right to live and work in the UK.
