A primary school in West Ealing is looking for a confident and experienced Year 6 Intervention Teacher to join its team from January 2027 on a full-time, long-term temporary basis, supporting pupils in the lead-up to their KS2 SATs. This role is focused on delivering targeted interventions to Year 6 pupils, helping them strengthen their understanding of key concepts in English and maths, build confidence and prepare for their end-of-KS2 assessments.
The school is looking for a teacher with a strong understanding of the Year 6 curriculum and SATs requirements, who can identify gaps in learning and deliver focused sessions to help pupils make progress. You’ll work closely with the Year 6 teaching team to ensure interventions are tailored to pupils’ needs and complement their classroom learning.
The Role
- Delivering small-group and targeted interventions across Year 6.
- Supporting pupils with SATs preparation in English and maths.
- Identifying gaps in learning and adapting sessions to address specific needs.
- Reinforcing key curriculum concepts, including reading comprehension, grammar, arithmetic and reasoning.
- Monitoring pupil progress and adapting interventions accordingly.
- Building pupils’ confidence and helping them develop effective learning strategies.
- Working alongside Year 6 teachers to coordinate support and share progress.
- Helping pupils prepare for assessments while maintaining a positive and encouraging learning environment.

- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
