Qualifications
Essential criteria
- First level nursing qualification
- Current NMC Registration
- Appropriate entry level criteria for the university education programme including a minimum of 240 academic credits of which at least 120 are at Level 5 (Diploma in Higher Education).
- Portfolio evidence of continual professional and academic development.
- For those wishing to undertake the Post Graduate SCPHN qualification at level 7 – applicants should hold an appropriate degree.
- Evidence of application to University- School Nursing Programme
- Letter confirming line manager approval to apply for secondment to the SCPHN programme
Desirable criteria
- Post-registration training
- Mentorship qualification (or working towards the award)
Experience
Essential criteria
- Must be a current BCHC employee and have been employed by the organisation for 12 months or more.

- Computer literate – ability to use software programmes designed to maximise the contribution to the post e.g. Microsoft, Word, Excel
- Demonstrate sound literacy skills
- Understanding of role of School Nurse
- Understanding of health & social care
- Awareness of Health & Safety situations
- Awareness of equality and diversity in delivery of health care
- Ability to work in different settings
- Partnership working within a multi-disciplinary team
- Understanding of safeguarding children & vulnerable adults
