SERVICE ENGINEER – AUTOMATIC DOORS
Full-time | Field Based
We’re looking for a Service Engineer to join a growing service team, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, repairs and upgrades to automatic door systems at customer sites.
This is a field-based role suited to someone with strong mechanical and/or electrical skills who enjoys fault-finding, working independently and delivering excellent customer service.
THE ROLE
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs
- Diagnosing existing and potential faults using a logical approach
- Completing modernisation and system upgrade works
- Carrying out door safety checks and investigating incidents
- Providing technical support to customers and colleagues
- Recommending preventative maintenance, replacement parts and system improvements
- Identifying opportunities for upgrades and additional service requirements
- Completing all required service documentation accurately
- Managing vehicle stock, tools, equipment, uniform and PPE
- Following customer site procedures and health & safety requirements
- Participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota
- Delivering a professional and reliable service at customer sites
ABOUT YOU
Previous experience working with automatic doors is highly desirable, although additional training can be provided.
Ideally, you will have:
- Knowledge or experience of automatic door systems
- Mechanical and/or electrical knowledge
- BS 7036 / EN 16005 knowledge or certification – preferred
- CSCS Card – advantageous
- NVQ in door systems and repair – advantageous
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organisation and communication skills
- A customer-focused approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility regarding working hours, call-outs and occasional weekend work
