Our client, a transportation-focused organization, is looking for an Integration & Test Engineer to own a complex EDI and systems environment end-to-end. Benefits & Extras

  • High autonomy and full ownership over a critical system environment
  • Direct, hands-on use of modern AI-assisted development tools
  • Opportunity to clean up, document, and modernize existing systems

  • Work closely with business stakeholders, not buried in a ticket queue

Compensation: $35/hour

  • Plan and execute an integration or EDI provider cutover, including a rehearsed rollback
  • Handle production Linux administration
  • Read, run, and deploy existing code with little to no documentation
  • Use AI tools to help build, review, and verify code
  • Step in and take full ownership of a previously established technical environment
  • Write documentation clear enough for another engineer to pick up and follow
  • Operate independently, without a technical team to lean on
  • Communicate clearly and patiently with non-technical stakeholders

What You’ll Need to be Considered

  • Hands-on EDI experience in transportation (X12 204, 990, 214, 210)
  • Experience leading an integration or EDI provider cutover with a rehearsed rollback plan
  • Ability to read, run, and deploy someone else’s undocumented code
  • Working fluency with AI-assisted development tools (Claude preferred)
  • Experience taking over an existing technical environment from a previous owner
  • Strong documentation skills and a self-directed working style
  • Personable, customer-service-minded communication style with non-technical audiences
  • Experience with McLeod LoadMaster or PowerBroker (preferred)
