CNC Programmer

We’re currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Programmer to join a repair and manufacturing business based in Consett.This is an excellent opportunity for a time-served CNC Turner with Mazak programming experience to join the production team and provide support within the CNC machine shop, operating and programming Mazak 200Y, Mazak 300Y and Mazak J300 5-axis turn/mill centres.The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality components to drawing and instruction, working to tight tolerances and agreed production deadlines.

Package

• £31,746.00 – £33,862.40 per annum, depending on skills and experience

Responsibilities

• Programme and operate Mazak CNC machinery within the machine shop
• Work with Mazak 200Y, Mazak 300Y and Mazak J300 5-axis turn/mill centres
• Produce components to engineering drawings and customer specifications
• Complete machining within agreed production deadlines
• Undertake turning and milling operations to the required tolerances
• Machine components to general tolerances of approximately +/-0.1mm
• Complete final machining to tighter tolerances, including 0.02mm where required
• Accurately read and interpret engineering drawings
• Use metric and imperial measurements as required
• Apply knowledge of tolerances and, where applicable, geometric tolerances
• Maintain a high standard of quality throughout the machining process
• Work flexibly to meet customer delivery requirements, including breakdown situations
• Work effectively as part of the production team

The Ideal Candidate

• Time-served CNC Turner
• Essential experience programming Mazak CNC machinery
• Experience working within an engineering or production environment
• Strong CNC turning and milling experienceExperience working to tight engineering tolerances
• Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Good understanding of metric and imperial measurements
• Knowledge of geometric tolerances would be advantageous
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Flexible approach to work and able to respond to changing production priorities
• Able to work effectively under pressure to meet customer delivery requirements
