Overview

In this role you will oversee a portfolio of leisure construction projects from award to handover, ensuring safe delivery, on time progress and budget performance. You will lead project managers and delivery teams, manage contracts and commercial activity, and nurture client relationships across the UK. The position combines hands-on project leadership with commercial oversight and travel to live sites. This is a growth-focused, senior role in a regional contractor delivering high-quality leisure spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the delivery of multiple projects from pre-construction to handover.
  • Provide leadership to Project Managers and site teams.
  • Maximise programme performance, commercial delivery, quality and client satisfaction.
  • Manage contract administration, procurement, change control, variations and valuations.
  • Review budgets, forecasts and commercial performance with the commercial team.
  • Monitor progress and identify risks with mitigation plans.
  • Support site teams in technical, operational and contractual challenges.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure safe delivery aligning with procedures and best practices.
  • Drive project programmes to successful completion and assist with handovers and post-project reviews.

Key requirements

  • Experience as a Contracts Manager in the construction industry.
  • Background delivering fit out, refurbishment, leisure, commercial or conversion projects.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously (500k–2m).
  • Strong commercial awareness with budgets, contracts, variations and profitability experience.
  • Excellent understanding of construction processes, contract administration and programme management.
  • Ability to lead and motivate multi-location project teams.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Well organised with ability to prioritise workload and work independently.
  • Full UK driving licence with willingness to travel.
