Associate Electrical Engineer

Overview

Associate Electrical Engineer to lead a small MEP design team within a Chelmsford-based consultancy. You will guide projects across feasibility, construction and post-occupancy, delivering expert electrical designs for education, commercial and healthcare sectors. The role combines technical leadership with client relationship management and a degree of business acumen to run the department with minimal supervision. This is a chance to shape delivery for high-profile clients within a respected firm and advance through mentoring and fee bid activity.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of 4 MEP Design engineers
• Provide expert advice and designs to clients on live projects
• Maintain client relationships in a front-facing role
• Apply business acumen to manage the department with minimal supervision
• Lead projects, prepare fee bids, mentor engineers and oversee from feasibility to post-occupancy

Key requirements

• At least 8 years experience in MEP Design and Sustainability within a consultancy
• Experience on education and commercial sector projects
• Experience producing bids and tenders for work
• Management of a small team of engineers
