Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers, hydraulic modellers, environmental scientists and specialists to deliver practical solutions
  • Perform feasibility studies and evaluate options for potable, foul, surface water, and attenuation needs
  • Contribute to all design stages: feasibility, outline, and detailed design; prepare reports and specifications
  • Carry out numerical analyses of water systems using advanced software
  • Design water infrastructure components (treatment plants, pumps, networks) with safety in mind and produce working drawings
  • Gain on-site experience through visits and assist project implementation
  • Support team with project and client management development
  • Mentor junior team members and participate in development training
  • Work within cross-functional teams to deliver projects from inception to completion
  • Options for flexible and hybrid working to balance delivery and development initiatives

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in the water sector within a consultancy
  • Experience with engineering assessments, options appraisals, and calculations
  • Working towards chartership or incorporated status (e.g., ICE, CIWEM)
  • Experience in outline and/or detailed design, preferably for wastewater/water treatment or flood risk/drainage schemes
  • Collaborative mindset
