Cost Manager – Real Estate

Overview

In this role you will own end-to-end cost management delivery for client commissions, shaping outcomes across real estate and infrastructure projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure value delivery, robust reporting, and proactive cost control. You’ll work with bespoke digital tools to optimise cost plans and support sustainability initiatives. This is a hands-on leadership position with opportunities to mentor junior staff and contribute to strategic business development.

Responsibilities

• Oversee commission management including feasibility studies, procurement reports and final cost plans
• Lead tendering and procurement activities and manage pre-qualification, tender lists, preliminaries, tender analysis and contracts documents
• Act as contract administrator including handling post-contract variances and change control
• Perform cost checks and valuations for projects and ensure timely, accurate reporting
• Produce monthly post-contract cost reports via Cost Control App and present to clients
• Contribute to value engineering and negotiate final accounts
• Interface with clients, Project Manager and consultants; collaborate with project management teams
• Lead a cost management team when required; utilise The Hive and other tools
• Implement Embodied Carbon Calculator reports and support NewLeaf strategy
• Manage internal fees, job costing, resourcing; support business development and bid documentation
• Support knowledge management, process improvements, and mentoring of junior staff
