Chief Officer for Legal and Governance

Service Care Solutions is working in partnership with a local authority, based in Warwickshire, which is looking to recruit an experienced Chief Officer for Legal and Governance. This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for providing strategic legal, governance and democratic leadership across the Council.

Umbrella Rate: £950per day PAYE Inc. Rate: £826.13per day

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Legal Services, Democratic Services, Elections, Business Support, and Equality & Diversity.
• Act as Monitoring Officer, advising Members and officers on governance, constitutional and legal matters.
• Lead the development and implementation of the Council’s governance operating model.
• Oversee democratic processes, including elections, scrutiny, Council and committee meetings.

Key Requirements

• Significant experience in legal, governance or democratic services.
• Experience as a Monitoring Officer, or the ability to undertake the statutory role.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams at a senior level.
