This is a high-profile and influential leadership position. The Finance Director is responsible for the House’s budget and accounts, leads a finance function of around 35 staff, and works closely with senior leaders, members of the House of Lords, the House of Commons, the National Audit Office and other key stakeholders. The role combines responsibility for financial stewardship with strategic leadership, helping to shape organisational priorities, support decision-making and deliver value for money across Parliament.
Candidates will bring significant senior finance leadership experience gained within a complex public, regulated, not-for-profit or similarly accountable organisation. They will possess strong strategic and commercial judgement, experience of leading major investment programmes or capital portfolios, and the ability to work effectively within a complex, high-profile and multi-stakeholder environment. The role also plays a key part in the oversight of Parliament’s wider bicameral investment and capital portfolio.
