Overview

In this role you contribute to the firm’s model risk governance by validating and enhancing risk models across asset classes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to challenge models, produce clear validation reports, and support new product development. The position offers exposure to advanced quantitative techniques and tools, driving better risk management and decision making. Responsibilities

  • Participate in team-led research to review, challenge and validate models across Schroders’ businesses and asset classes
  • Produce high-quality model validation reports and contribute to model governance framework updates (policies, standards, controls, documentation)
  • Present validation conclusions and actionable recommendations to the Group Model Governance Committee
  • Support development and implementation of risk models and related projects using advanced quantitative methods
  • Design and develop tools and automation to strengthen risk management, increasing efficiency, control and transparency
  • Contribute to monitoring activities for critical tools, including testing, performance monitoring, issue identification and remediation tracking

Key requirements

  • Postgraduate qualification in a quantitative discipline (e.g., mathematics, statistics, physics, engineering, computer science, econometrics)
  • Substantial relevant experience in investment, quantitative modelling or risk management (asset management / buy side preferred)
  • Programming experience in Python and/or R with well-structured, testable code
  • Experience with AI / machine learning models, including design, monitoring and validation considerations
  • Ability to work autonomously, identify weaknesses, escalate issues, and propose practical solutions
  • Strong, clear communication and the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders
  • Interpersonal and communication dexterity
