Overview
As an Embedded Cryptography Engineer in Glasgow, you will develop cryptographic software for security-critical products across automotive, payments, identity, IoT and edge computing. You will work with security architects, firmware, OS and hardware teams to implement and evaluate cryptographic technologies, including Post-Quantum Cryptography. The role blends low-level programming with security countermeasures to protect real-world devices. This is a chance to impact globally deployed products and shape security across multiple domains.
Responsibilities
- develop cryptographic software for embedded systems
- design and implement security countermeasures against side-channel and fault-injection attacks
- perform low-level debugging and problem solving in collaboration with hardware, firmware, OS and security teams
- work with security architects and internal evaluation teams to assess cryptographic solutions
- explore and apply post-quantum cryptography concepts and related technologies
- coordinate across automotive, payment, identification, IoT and edge computing domains
Key requirements
- core experience in cryptography and embedded security
- strong understanding and implementation of cryptographic primitives
- proficient in C and Assembly within embedded environments
- familiarity with ARM Cortex and RISC-V microcontroller architectures
