Overview
In this role you will lead psychological services for people with learning disabilities in Devon, working within a multidisciplinary team to improve wellbeing. You will provide clinical leadership across MDTs, shape psychological therapies, and manage a specialist caseload and service development. You will supervise staff and trainees, contribute to governance, and drive evidence-based practice. Responsibilities
- Ensure high-quality psychological service provision for people with learning disabilities in Devon
- Provide clinical leadership, coordination and supervision for psychology staff, trainees and volunteers
- Lead delivery and development of psychological therapies for learning disabilities
- Carry a specialist caseload and provide therapy, advice and consultancy to patients and professionals
- Work autonomously within professional guidelines and governance of psychological practice
- Receive regular supervision and adhere to HCPC/BPS guidelines
- Contribute to management and development of psychology services in the locality
- Supervise trainees and provide clinical placements for D.Clin Psych students
Key requirements
- Qualified Clinical Psychologist (D.Clin. Psych or equivalent)
- HCPC registration
- Desirable: further training in psychological therapies and in learning disabilities interventions
- Excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communication
- Advanced consultation and supervision skills
- Organisational and time management skills
- Advanced psychological assessment and formulation
- Specialist interventions (e.g., Positive Behaviour Support, CBT, DBT)
