Overview

As an Assistant Project Manager/Project Manager at AECOM, you will help manage and deliver water-related capital projects within the FRAM programme. You’ll work with senior colleagues to coordinate lifecycle activities from inception to site delivery, ensuring quality, cost, and schedule targets. You will engage with clients and stakeholders to resolve issues and drive project success, mentoring graduates and apprentices along the way. This role offers impact through large-scale flood risk and asset management work that protects communities and the environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or support capital investment projects across the lifecycle from inception to commissioning
  • Provide client-side project management support during option studies, development, procurement, and tendering
  • Manage meetings, minuting, progress reporting, and procurement/tender documentation
  • Engage with client, contractor and stakeholders to deliver within agreed parameters and resolve disputes
  • Oversee client-side PM activities including HS, risk, quality, schedule, and contract management
  • Ensure project outputs meet quality, cost, and time targets
  • Coordinate resources and guide project team to meet client and business requirements
  • Support business development with existing and new clients
  • Assist with NEC4 contract support and contract management processes
  • Mentor/guide Graduates and Apprentices

Key requirements

  • Experience delivering PM services in a consulting environment, including meetings, PEP development, progress reports, and tender documentation
  • Relevant degree in project management, engineering, environmental science, construction, or related field
  • Understanding of NEC contracts (PSC and ECC)
  • Desirable PM qualifications (APM PMQ or PRINCE2); associate membership of related professional body desirable
